At the end of February, RPI completed its hot streak on the recruiting trail with the commitment of Dylan Lariviere. Lariviere is an ‘05 forward who is listed at 6’4” and 192 LBs. He’s currently playing for Ridley College where he has totaled 33 goals, 21 assists, and 54 points in 42 games. In MPHL games specifically, he led the entire league in goals with 19 in the 18 game season.
Lariviere is a big, power forward with great hands, good skating ability and a big shot. He likes to shoot the puck a lot and loves to have the puck on his stick. He excels with the puck because his size, strength, skating and hands. No one can take it off of him, and he can easily get to dangerous spots. His shot is dangerous and beats goalies cleanly regularly. He has a booming one-timer and slapshot, which is rare for someone his age. A former coach of his also lauded his high-level hockey IQ prior to the OHL draft in 2021. While Lariviere has a very exciting power forward package, he’s still very raw and trying to put it all together. I’m really excited to see his development continue.
With his ‘05 birth year and raw game, I expect Lariviere will enroll in 2025 after playing 2 years of junior hockey. Those two years will help him put his raw toolkit together and also round out his game. He should come to RPI ready to make an impact as a good power forward. I’m really looking forward to watching him and tracking him more over these next couple years! Congratulations to Dylan and his family!
